Glen joined the team at TalkLink in 2006. Since completing his BHSc in Occupational Therapy in 1998 he has worked in both acute and community based health settings. He has gained valuable experience and practical problem solving skills through working with wheelchairs and seating, positioning and education programmes, hand splinting, skill development exercises, adaptive building design and construction, and working with a number of community and funding agencies.
He has keen interest in assistive technology. Ever since a placement in the area as a student he has enjoyed seeing the vital integration of therapy and technology in developing many people’s functional skills and quality of life. Glen is now involved in the process of client assessment, analysis and access to assistive technology to enable compatible solutions for written and spoken communication. “Technology will keep growing and developing as new ideas are made possible. This will open up new areas of freedom and expression for those who we work with, making it a continually rewarding area to be involved in”.
