Wendy Nicholson

Wendy is from Te Arawa/Ngati Whatua toku iwi, and has been a member of the TalkLink team since 2000. Wendy works part-time in a liaison/administrator role, which involves multi-tasking in such areas as reception, administration, processing course information and referrals, and she is also the social organiser. Wendy’s previous experience has been in secretarial and administration, ranging over 15-18 years, with a short break to have her two children.

As Tangata Whenua Wendy has been involved with developing our services to Maori. She has been working with Miriama Scott one of the TalkLink Trustees in these developments. Wendy is a member of the New Windsor Primary School Board of Trustees and an active member of the Whanau Committee for the Bilingual Unit Te Whanau Puawaitanga at the school.  Wendy volunteers her free time in the Running Readers Programme and in Parent Help at the school. Wendy has also been developing her Te Reo Maori skills and has been involved in translating some of our symbol resources.
