Support people with disabilities
TalkLink Auckland, Wahanga Tu Korero offers on-going support in the form of communication group meetings. These meetings are held at regular intervals and are designed for people with long term communication needs. To date we run three groups:
1. The Communication Abilities Group, which is a group of adults who use voice output communication devices. They meet at TalkLink Auckland to socialise with one another, and problem solve with the TalkLink clinicians around the operation and/or on-going maintenance of their equipment.

2. Low technology Communication Days Low Technology Communication Days are designed for school aged students who are at the beginning stages of using assistive technology. They are held at various primary schools in the central Auckland area and attract students from all over Auckland. These days have been designed to show students and their support people how low technology options can be incorporated to facilitate communication. It also provides a networking opportunity.

3. High Technology Communication Days High Technology Communication Days are designed for school aged students who are using some form of voice output communication device. They are held at various primary schools in the central Auckland area and attract students from all over Auckland. These days have been designed to show students and their support people how to incorporate high technology options into everyday communication activities. It also provides a networking opportunity.
