Happy New Year 2016

As our team gears up for another busy year, it is time to catch up on a few tasks that I had planned to complete last year. One of these was to post the 2014-15 Annual Report in order to share some of the highlights and challenges of the past financial year.  I hope that you find the report interesting reading.

We based the report on the theme of the United Nation’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2015 which was Inclusion Matters – access and empowerment for people of all abilities; something we see as a fundamental principle to the work we do every day.

As we begin 2016 TalkLink is looking at ways to raise more awareness of the work we do in order to remove barriers to inclusion. I can’t think of a better way to do this than through personal  testimonies, like the ones in our Annual Report and on our Website and Facebook.

Attitude barriers can be one of the biggest hurdles as this video clip illustrates:Jordon Milroy, Climbing for Awareness

Way to go Jordon! You can learn more about Jordon’s quest to raise awareness on http://www.jordonmilroy.com/

Let’s hope that 2016 is a year of less discrimination and more inclusion.
