KiwiChat Day term 4 – Waikato

The term 4 Kiwichat day in Waikato was based around music and we had a great morning. This was based at Patricia Avenue School and we had a range of students of various ages communicating with coreboards, PODD books, and iPads with communication apps.

We had a morning filled with different music based activities. We had one called “listen and name the instrument” where the students had to guess what instrument was being played behind a red curtain. We even had a “double wooden agogo” which was a new word for most of us!

Students were able to make their own musical instruments, we had a few different drums and shakers. A lot of concentration and hard work went into these!

A request was made by one of the students to sing the New Zealand National Anthem, so we finished up as a group singing this and it was a lovely way to finish up the morning.

We are looking forward to more KiwiChat days in Waikato in early 2017 and hope you are too.
