Tip of the Month (August 2010) Putting a display of the current battery level on a button

You don’t have to go all the way into the Setup Menu to check your current battery level.  The current battery level percentage can be displayed as a special type of label on a button on any of your pages.  This is especially useful if you have set a password on your menu settings.

To program a button which will display the current battery level, follow these steps:

1.            Select the green Modify button in the title bar

2.            Select an empty button on your page that you would like to use as the battery display.  The Modify Button menu will appear

3.            Select the Clear button in the lower left corner of the Modify menu to clear out any previous content from this button

4.           Select the blank Label field.  A keyboard will open.

5.            On the bottom edge of the keyboard, select the Insert Active Label

6.            When you select the insert Active Label button, this menu will popup.  Scroll down until you find Battery Level.  Select it and then select OK

7.            Close out of all the open menus by selecting the OK buttons.

8.            The current level of how full the battery is will be displayed, in percentage, on the label of the button.

Note:    If you have a used a small button you will need to use Page Editing to resize your button
