National Volunteer Week 2016

Each year New Zealand celebrates National Volunteer Week to recognise and celebrate the vital contribution of New Zealand’s approximately 1.2 million volunteers to social development, the economy and the environment.

This year, National Volunteer Week is being celebrated between Sunday 19th and Saturday 25th June 2016 and focuses on time through the following two sayings:

  • Make time – Whai whā
  • Thanks for making time – Kia ora mō tāu whai whā

TalkLink would like to take this opportunity to recognise our volunteers, people who fit us into their busy schedules. In particular, our hardworking TalkLink Trust Board members who give freely of their time and help us think strategically, in order that we can provide the best possible services.

We would also like to recognise our ambassadors, people who we call on, to help others understand the work that we do. People like Gabby, Geneva, Mackenzie and Nathan who volunteered at KiwiChat Camp.

There were many others who volunteered their time at KiwiChat Camp – mostly friends and family members of our hard working TalkLink team. Thanks for making time – Kia ora mō tāu whai whā
