KiwiChat Day Term 2 – Northland

We had a fabulous morning at Riverview School in Kerikeri. Seven students and their Mums or school teams braved the downpour to have some fun talking about “monsters”. There were some very imaginative monster creations and everyone enjoyed the all male story book reading team – Mark and Magnus!  The Gruffalo seemed to be a favourite.  Students chose how to choreograph a dance to Monster Mash and had lots of fun busting moves and telling Polly which move to do next. The TalkLink team were very excited to see everyone from O___ School wearing their core boards and enjoying their first KiwiChat Day experience.

For those of you who have not heard of KiwiChat Day before: It is an opportunity for students to come together from all over a region, spend the morning meeting new people, making new friends and generally having fun. It is also a great opportunity for the people supporting them to get some ideas on how to incorporate communication systems (core boards, PODD books, high tech communication devices, etc) into fun activities and everyday life, catch up on what’s new and watch the students have a blast!

We are looking forward to our next Northland KiwiChat Day in Whangarei on Wednesday 24 August!
